My old Kentucky home

We are back now, and I am writing this from the comfort of my own home and computer.

We worshipped at Eternal Shepherd LCMS in Seneca, SC this morning. We then departed for Lexington. Along the way we stopped at Whitewater Falls in North Carolina, the highest water falls east of the Rockies, where we ate a picknick lunch.

This evening we reunited with our families, and the kids got one last game of frisbee in.

Much fun. Even more importantly, the parents and all of St. John's should be proud of the kids' hard work and Christian conduct.

And now, some rest!

A few more announcements

· General Youth News: Senior Youth will be canceled on Sundays, June 22 and 29, because of the mission trip.

· Mission Trip News

o Bedding and Towels: These are not provided by Camp Biloxi. I highly recommend bringing along a sleeping bag and perhaps a sheet to tuck around the mattress. You’ll need your own towel and washcloth.

o Pre-loading: Want to buy an extra half hour for yourself on Saturday morning? Phil Campbell will be at Saint John’s on Friday night from 7 to 8 PM to load luggage, etc. If you get your stuff loaded that evening, you will be allowed to come a half hour later on Saturday morning: 5:30 AM. If you do not load your stuff on Friday night, we expect you there by 5:00 AM. And if you’re late? Don’t even ask what the consequences are. Just kidding . . . . not really.

Last Minute News and Notes

· Please arrive on Saturday morning at 5:00 AM. This will allow time for packing and organization for a 6:00 AM departure.

· On Saturday, please come having eaten breakfast and with a sack lunch. This will allow us to make good time on the way to Biloxi.

· Remember to bring bedding!

· There are laundry facilities near the camp. I recommend not bringing a g’zillion changes of clothing and doing some wash while there.

· New activity: On Sunday the 22nd we will be taking a ferry out to Ship Island for the day. You can check out information on Ship Island here. Bring lots of sunscreen!
